Hair dye?
« on: October 16, 2006, 11:53:27 AM »
Is there a brand that is best?

I need black hair for miroku and my hair is the right length so i don't want a wig.

As of right now i don't care too much wether it's temp or permanent. (my parent might make me do temp though).

They're all good as long as you don't get the cheap kind. I wouldn't go permanent though unless you want to stay black headed for a while. It takes a long time to get it out if it's permanent. Black especially.
Why yes Kakashi, I do download!

How does the temp dye work?  Does it all wash out.  Or does your hair retain a hint of the dyes color.

I need to know because I need to dye my hair for my Ichigo cosplay.

Temp dyes don't wash out immediately, it takes about two weeks or so of daily shampooing to get the dye out, (iirc)

Yeah, I got this temp stuff and went to Sogen and I think ACEN as a temporary red head...though I feel bad for the cleaning ladies[at the hotel] at sogen 'cuz my red hair dye on the curtains made it look like the scene where Carrie got pig's blood spilled on her. O.o;;; =_=;;

My hair's shoulder length, dark brown and I'm gonna get a hair cut friday night or saturday morning after I'm done cosplaying as Jin [samurai shamploo] so I can be Tamaki [Ouran High School Host Club].

Anyone got suggestions?  I'm thinkin' of bleaching it, but I'm gonna dye it again so I can be Raito [deathnote] on Sunday.  lol I'm gonna so murder my hair. XP

Yeah, temp hair dye doesn't wash out right away. If you decide for permanent hair dye though, go to Hot Topic (if you have one where you live). They usually have some good stuff since that's what the employees dye their hair with.

Hot Topic's dyes here suck... I dyed my bangs purple (after dying them blonde), and it was completely gone in less than a month.  That is sooo not permanent.  And the color was weak, even though it was blonde before I dyed it again...
I (KuroNamida/Waffle) bee back!  Under this name as display, though?  Since A)Z~U is spnecialer.
Just where was I?  Stuck somewhere between a PS2, dvd player, bratty kids, and myspace/facebook, it seems...

The hair dye here works. My sister dyed her hair with their dye and it turned out fine. It's just that she messed up a little by missing some brown so she went to an actual hair salon to get it fixed...

I got some stuff (don't remember the brand) for my Shuichi hair color from a drug store, and it turned out fine (though it was supposed to be more purple and instead it was BRIGHT BRIGHT pink......)... Then I remembered that I had light hair, so it wouldn't look the same on me as a darker-haired person. So I dyed my black cat's tail, and it turned out purple.

Lineup for '1:
England - Axis Powers Hetalia
Len - VOCALOID (Imitation Black, perhaps Magnet)
Misaki Takahashi - Junjou Romantica
Lolita

depending on what you're doing, hair dye is alright.  but no matter what the color, after a week it'll begin to fade.  even the browns.  i dyed my hair a dark ash right before sogen and now it's a middle brown (might be the brunette shampoo i'm using as well).

but note:  any form of red will fade super fast.  the "natural" colors will stick around a lot longer (ie browns, blondes and blacks) than anything else.

sometimes it's just easier to (depending on the hairstyle) buy a wig.  you don't damage your natural hair, no ugly roots after about a month and you can always reuse wigs!  i stay away from dying my hair because a: i already do every 3 months w/ browns, b: working world, can't have crazy hair (i miss my redpurple/black hair though)  c: don't wanna fry my hair.  wigs can get expensive, but sometimes it pays to get a good one.  multi-purpose ones are the best!

plus i just like to use wigs in my photography.  easiest way to change appearance.

Yeah, I figured out the hard way that red fades quickly...and it goes to pink. Now I'm starting to rethink of just getting a wig for my Yachiru cosplay.

i would say go with a wig that you can cut, style and dye and what not, but then again, i'm half native american and my hair is about equal to being my baby. well, on the other hand, later today, i'm dying it a not natural color for the first time ;.;. the only colors i dye it is black, but that's what it naturally is, and one time, i dyed my hair blonde,so it would be light enough to make it red. and it was a total fail, the top of my head, in the end was pumpkin orange, and i cried for almost a day.
But Yellow and Yellow Make Love. XD.
